The Listening Ground Online Art Auction, inspired by Larry Littlebird, will feature new works graciously donated by the Native artist/painter and his son, Jesse Littlebird .  Larry’s new series, “The People Came This Way, are mythic paintings coming out of Littlebird’s tribal oral tradition memory.  Jesse Littlebird is donating paintings from his 2013 “Emancipation” series.  All proceeds from the online art auction will benefit the Listening Ground.  The online auction will open on June 23 and run through July 22, 2013.  Seed Fundraising goal is $5,000.

Reaching the auction goal of $5,000 will seed the gathering, recording and archiving of endangered oral legacies held by revered tribal elders.


Larry Littlebird, founding director of Hamaatsa and contemporary Native artist/painter is donating five paintings from his new works. The People Came This Way is a mythic series inspired by Littlebird's rich oral culture legacy.  His son, Jesse Littlebird, artist/filmmaker is also donating paintings from his Emancipation Series.
